Het 11e ICT is van start gegaan met de eerste ronde van het Gebruikerstoernooi. De 8 prgramma’s in het programmeurstoernooi beginnen om 12:00 met hun eerste ronde.Om 12:00 is ook de eerste rond begonnen in het Programmeurstoernooi.

De CSVN organiseert voor de 11e keer het Internationale CSVN Toernooi (ICT). Plaats van handeling is wederom het “Leids Denksportcentrum”, Robijnstraat 4, 2332 KE Leiden. Er zijn twee toernooien: het Programmeurstoernooi en het Gebruikerstoernooi. (English version will follow as soon as possible)
Het blijkt dat de CSVN tijdens de afgelopen twee toenrooien bedrogen is door “Richard Hall” met zijn programma’s Almond en Scaramanga. Tussen kerst en nieuwjaar kregen via een van onze deelnemers de melding dat de Hall niet helemaal was wie hij ons verteld had te zijn. Met een internationale groep van mensen zijn we toen bezig gegaan om uit te zoeken welk programma nu eigenlijk gebruikt is. A little bit later then at the end of the last round and after the prize giving ceremony, the results are posted here. The (small) organisation had to clear the playing hall, packing all their cables and other stuff and drive back home. There the diner waited. So now at nearly 23:00 the final results on the website. Round 8 has started. In the mean time the organisation is calculating the results for the programmers prize. After the calculations we see Rookie on top of the programmers prize list. There was a very quick win by Hiarcs over Nightmare. Hiarcs was still in the book and in the post-mortem the calculation said mate in 13. Question: has anybody seen this game before? The games up to round 7 are now in the Dutch Open Computer Championship 2010 file….
The last round on Saturday will start as soon as possible. Should have started at 16:15. But the last game of round 5 has just finished. We start this round with the knowledge that Rybka has 5 out of 5. The followers are Spark and Deep Shredder with 1.5 points behind. The big question for the next four rounds is: will any program be strong enough to stop Rybka? We will see.
The fifth round is due to start. Pairings will be up in a moment. Participants know it already, as they sit behind their machines.The games of round 4 are already available in the Dutch Open Computer Championship 2010. In the short member meeting Hans Secelle was choosen into the board of the CSVN. Naast het Open Nederlands Computerschaak Toernooi wordt vandaag ook het 21e Gebruikerstoernooi gehouden. Tien deelnemers spelen vandaag met hun bordcomputers een 6 rondien zwitsers toernooi. Foto’s en korte ronde verslagen zullen in dit artikel worden geplaatst. Na 6 ronden spelen zij de prijze uitgereikt. Kijk hieronder voor de programma’s en hun operators, de resultaten en de uitstand.

This round has started some later than the expected time. And much later for some programs because of internet problems.The PGN of round one will be uploaded as soon as possible, including the photos of the second round. But keeping the internet usage low by other than the programs is still necessary. Pairing will be added as soon as possible too. Your reporter has to find the chief arbiter for this.
The first round has started. All 20 programs are on the premises. Although this means only their operators as approximately half of the participants are playing remote.

Vanochtend, of eigenlijk vanacht in Nederland, is de vijfde ronde van het Wereldkampioenschap Computerschaak gespeeld. Het toernooi is daarmee over de helft. In de laatste ronden zijn de grote programma’s tegen elkaar gepaard en met de huidige stand kan dat nog erg spannend worden. In ronde 5 speelden Rybka en Rondo remise, evenals Shredder tegen Jonny en Pandix Breakthrough tegen Deep Junior. Darmenios en Thinker wonnen hun partij. Vandaag is in Kanazawa, Japan, het 18e wereldkampioenschap computerschaak van start gegaan. In totaal zijn er 10 deelnemers maar helaas geen Nederlandse deelnemers dit jaar. Er zijn 3 verschillende toernooien die van 24 september tot en met 2 oktober worden georganiseerd op JAIST ter ere van hun 20 jarig bestaan in samenwerking met de ICGA. De drie toernooien zijn: WCCC (het wereldkampioenschap computerschaak), WCSC (het wereldkampioenschap software) en een snelschaaktoernooi.
The CSVN will award a prize of € 200,- to the programmer, present during the tournament, whose program performs best in the Open Dutch Computer-Chess Championship 2010 compared to its prior (best) rating.

The 10th International CSVN Tournament has been won by Rybka and it gets the Theo van de Storm trophy. Second is Deep Sjeng and third is shared between Hiarcs and Deep Shredder.
